Finally Thursday

Sadly, I am working tomorrow night, instead of driving to Kent to hang out with family like I'd prefer. Extra sadly, this means I will get home at 1:30 a.m., get to bed at 3 a.m. and then have to get up at 8 a.m. to spend two hours in the car with a toddler who just loves car trips. I can feel my enthusiasm building by the second. We have so much crap that we need to remember to bring too! $60 worth of stuff to return to Target, games and tools borrowed from my in-laws, outfits for all three of us that are nice enough to go to dinner at my grandma's in, and a bunch of baby stuff for Amy, which I've yet to sort through and decide what I should give her and what I should keep for our future second child.

Who wants to bet I spent this whole evening lying around reading or hanging out with my husband instead of cleaning and/or packing? Anyone?

Do you work a lot of nights? Is your paper a daily? I guess this means I won't hear from you until next week. What am I supposed to do today, then??

yes, its a daily. monday through frieday its an evening paper (one of the few left in the country) and on the weekends, its a morning paper. this means on friday, we put out two papers. one in the morning (friday evening edition) and one in the evening (saturday morning edition) and then sunday mornings paper is made saturday evening. no one works on sunday. then the monday evening paper is made on monday morning.

its usually divided up so that each person only has to work one weekend per month. and usually if you work the weekend, you work both days. i worked last weekend as my weekend for the month, and took this friday shift over as a favor to someone. i'm really not happy to be working, but i know that they would (and have) done the same thing for me. so here i am. sorry if you were bored today.

i'll try and post a little tomorrow (hopefully some photos, yay!) so you don't have to be tooo sad :-)
